Welcome!

Congress? You reading this? Yeah, I'm talking to you. I'm a citizen and you're kinda sorta supposed to listen to me. I may not have voted for you, but the least you could do is represent me. Anyone else reading this, tell me what you think. This blog isn't just a blog, its interactive so get involved and speak your mind! Literally of course.

Nicaragua's Ortega Wastes Little Time

He has proposed that term limits be removed from the Nicaraguan Constitution. Nicaragua is an ALBA nation. Turn on the common sense portion of your brains and re-read the first two lines of this blog. Thank you for reading.

Update: Placing more thought into this I believe I know why. The world took Zelaya's side. Ortega believes that if he proposes it, should it go against him no matter how far he pushes it, he will have the support of the U.N., NAM, and OAS, and with them the world will follow their lead and support his move to hold onto power.

Zelaya pushed it so far as to raid a military base with his supporters a day before he was removed in an attempt to force distribution of the ballots for his referendum which the military refused to do (it is their assigned duty to distribute ballots for any election) on the basis of the Congress, Supreme Court, and human rights ombudsman declaring it unconstitutional. The world still supports Zelaya. Ortega sees this as the green light to push through his hold on power as far as he has to.
