Swine Flu Outbreak (And Why It Matters)
The CDC has announced after a thousand people have been infected and 68 killed (8 of the infected are Americans) that the flu is beyond containment. It happens to be rather deadly more than other flu types, or maybe it is just faster than other flu outbreaks so its getting the news coverage. Now, to the important part: wash your hands. Aside from that, the CDC admits failure after a thousand peasants in Mexico get the flu? Only eight Americans are confirmed. Something doesn't make sense. Everything can be contained. Plague anyone? Communism anyone? Government spending? Alright that last one I admit can't be right now. However the CDC is supposed to help us in the event of a catastrophic pandemic and yet after a thousand infections here "nevermind, its too much effort". I'm not reassured in any way. The CDC and the FDA in connection to illness lately has been a miserable failure. Its irritatingly annoying. They get billions of dollars to admit failure after failure (salmonella anyone?) and I'm getting sick of it, and if it goes on I might actually get sick because of it. They need to straighten out their doctrines and get back to the cold war era thinking, because they at least faked being prepared back then and I lived happily (well, my parents felt happier) without fear. The fear is attacking us from all sides. Bush did that a lot. Why is it still here Obama? I hope he heard me. I'm glad you read this at least. Have a good day. Meow.
