Human Rights Advocates

I support human rights. I was proud of the way Saddam got such excellent treatment despite his ruthless regime. Saddam did not try to escape.

In Nigeria human rights groups are calling the death of the leader of Boko Haram unlawful. This man was responsible for over three hundred deaths in a week and I am glad that he died instead of escaping to be recaptured. Human rights groups should sigh in relief that a radical was stopped before being unleashed for more mayhem.

Now, I will admit that if he was not trying to escape this was illegal and should be investigated. However, the public denouncement and almost support of Boko Haram coming from the human rights groups is appalling. BBC the following:

Several days of gun battles between militants and Nigerian security forces ensued, culminating in the assault on the militant's stronghold. Human rights groups have accused the military of excessive violence in quelling the militants.

Excerpt over. My common sense defenses are on high alert. They were in a WARZONE!!!!!!! WHAT LEVEL OF VIOLENCE IS NOT GOING TO BE REACHED IN A WARZONE?!?!?! Yes, war is bad, but WAR HAS DEATH AND VIOLENCE. When it happens, it is not excessive, it is war. The forces they were fighting wanted the overthrow of the Nigerian government. The human rights groups should be glad the overthrow failed because I doubt they would be allowed to report of any human rights abuses under Sharia.

They want to investigate the wrongful holding and possibly torture of people when it shouldn't happen? How about they head over to Greece and help release 200 Somalis herded into minibuses by the police without being told why.
