Chris Dodd isn't running for re-election. At least three other Dems have announced they are not running for election or re-election.
The deal here might be what those with nothing to lose might do with power.

What is scary is that none of them think they have done anything wrong and that they are misunderstood. If they retire they will line theier pockets before they leave. Those who stay and replace those retiring, they will line their pockets too so we loose either way.
