Today's Teens

This is a blog written by Za Ro, a good friend. He is not on my side in the political world, however some messages can be agreed upon. This is one of those messages:

In today’s society when you hear about teenagers most of the time you think of students and people striving to become our next leaders, doctors and other highly respected people of the world. But you’re not seeing the whole picture if you think that every teen is happy with their life. Tonight I am going to be talking about the teens that are forgotten in this fast pace life we live today. If you look anywhere today you will see that most teens are suffering from many things, problems with parents, bullies in school, and other big issues in their life. Most of those kids are usually labeled, in the high school world as “Emo”, A stereo type that has fought its way to the respected table of high school labels. But that stereo type, although it is recognized more often today, is a hard one to carry. You are under constant scrutiny of people calling you names and insulting you with bringing this image of pain in your life. My point here tonight is we need to look past the stereo types, the labels, and see the person who is underneath. Because when people are hurting they don’t want you to mock them, insult them, bash them and even injure them. The stereo type “Emo” in my personal opinion is a way for people to say “Hey I need help. Someone please notice me”. It is about the person who needs help in the struggles that he or she is going through. So the next time you start to hate or feel the need to harass someone for cutting themselves, or have attempted suicide, or might believe something you don’t. Or cry every night because they are alone in this world and their parents abuse them every day. Please stop yourself and think. What if I was in their shoes? I know today we can be over dramatic with problems and that in other places in the world people have it worse. But when someone is hurting no matter who it is we need to be there to help the best we can or we are just a bunch of selfish beings. I end this short story with a message tonight that might open people’s eyes to be more open minded, and to see what they can change inside of themselves. I hope this moves people because there are a lot of changes that need to be made to this world before we start getting better.
Also, and finally, in today’s world we don’t need to split everyone one apart we need to come together and help change the world, we need to make a difference. From people in all places around the globe we need to make a difference.
